Unit History

VII Corps was a major U.S. Army formation tasked with leading armored and mechanized forces during Operation Desert Storm (1991) in support of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) objectives. Deployed to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, VII Corps conducted rapid offensive operations, engaging Iraqi Republican Guard units and liberating Kuwait with overwhelming force and coordination.

Soldiers of VII Corps earned recognition as Desert Storm Veterans for their participation in one of the largest armored campaigns since World War II. The corps’ operations showcased precision, mobility, and combat effectiveness, playing a critical role in the swift coalition victory and demonstrating the U.S. Army’s readiness and capability in large-scale mechanized warfare.
