Unit History

The 327th Infantry Regiment was originally constituted in August 1917 and assigned to the 82nd Division during World War I, participating in major operations such as the St. Mihiel and Meuse–Argonne offensives. Reorganized before World War II, the regiment was later assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, becoming one of its core glider-borne and later airborne infantry units.
