Unit History
The 2nd Infantry Regiment, one of the oldest active units in the U.S. Army, carries the motto “Do Not Touch Me.” Established in 1808, the regiment has a distinguished history spanning over two centuries, participating in major conflicts including the War of 1812, Mexican-American War, Civil War, World Wars, Korean War, Vietnam War, and modern deployments.
