Unit History

The 2nd Infantry Regiment, one of the oldest regiments in the U.S. Army, carries the motto “Noli Me Tangere” (“Touch Me Not”). Established in the early 19th century, the regiment has served in numerous conflicts, including the War of 1812, Mexican-American War, Civil War, World Wars, and more recent operations.
