SSI - 8th Infantry Division
The 8th Infantry Division, known as the "Pathfinder Division," served with distinction in World War I, World War II, and the Cold War. Its shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) features a gold numeral "8" on a blue shield with a red border, symbolizing strength and tradition.
The division landed in Normandy after D-Day, fighting through France, Belgium, and Germany. Post-WWII, it was stationed in West Germany as part of NATO defense forces during the Cold War. The division was inactivated in 1992, but its legacy continues through its veterans and historical contributions.
