48TH INFANTRY DIVISION
The 48th Infantry Division was a unit of the U.S. Army National Guard, officially active from 1946 to 1955. Composed primarily of troops from Florida and Georgia, it was part of the post–World War II reorganization of the National Guard. Though it never saw combat as a full division, it served an important role in U.S. military readiness during the early Cold War. The division was inactivated in 1955, and its lineage continued through reorganized units in the National Guard.
