Artillery - Honest John Rocket - MGR1
The MGR-1 Honest John was the U.S. Army’s first nuclear-capable surface-to-surface artillery rocket, introduced in the 1950s. Fired from a truck-mounted launcher, the Honest John was an unguided, solid-fueled rocket used for both conventional and nuclear missions. Artillery units trained on the Honest John played a key role in Cold War deterrence, providing rapid-response firepower with a range of up to 30 miles (48 km). Its use marked a significant leap in rocket artillery capability, bridging the gap between traditional artillery and missile systems.
