During the Vietnam Era, the Women's Army Corps (WAC) provided crucial support in non-combat roles, including administrative, communication, and medical support, with members serving in Vietnam and other areas. While WACs were not authorized to serve in combat, some women were deployed to the conflict zone, and many still operated under difficult conditions. The WAC officially ended in 1978 when it was integrated into the regular U.S. Army.
