The 77th Infantry Division, nicknamed the "Statue of Liberty Division," is an American infantry division with a distinguished history spanning World War I, World War II, and beyond. Originally formed in 1917, it played a significant role in World War I, notably during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, where a portion of the division became known as the "Lost Battalion". The division's history also includes participation in World War II, where it fought in the Pacific Theater, including the battles of Guam and Okinawa.
