The 3rd Armored Division, often nicknamed "The Spearhead," was a US Army armored division during World War II. It was activated in 1941 and played a significant role in the European Theater, landing at Omaha Beach in France and advancing eastward into Germany. The division also saw action in the Battle of the Bulge.
