A "Vietnam Combat Veteran w 31st Engineer" refers to a member of the U.S. Army's 31st Engineer Battalion (Combat) who served in Vietnam, performing construction and combat support tasks. This can include building bases, bridges, and roads, as well as clearing jungles and supporting combat troops. The 31st Engineer Battalion was active in Vietnam from 1968 until their return to the U.S. in 1972.
