Die-Cut Magnets - Army - SSI - 27th Armored Division w Name Tape - Empire - US Army X 300
The 27th Armored Division was established in February 1955 as part of a reorganization of the Army National Guard, transitioning from the 27th Infantry Division. It was known as the "Empire Division," reflecting New York's nickname, the Empire State. The division's headquarters was initially located in Buffalo, later moving to Syracuse. The division included various units such as armored rifle battalions, medium tank battalions, and howitzer battalions, along with support units like the 227th Signal Battalion.
