The 4th Infantry Division, nicknamed the "Ivy" Division, was formed in 1917 and is known for its "Steadfast and Loyal" motto and its history of multi-domain operations. Its history includes actions in World War I, spearheading D-Day on Utah Beach during World War II, service in Vietnam, and playing a key role in Operation Red Dawn. The division's insignia is a reference to the Roman numeral IV (four), which is depicted as four ivy leaves, symbolizing tenacity and fidelity.
