The U.S. Army's 2nd Armored Division, nicknamed "Hell on Wheels," was a prominent armored combat unit that served in both World War II and the Gulf War. The division was known for its distinctive shoulder sleeve insignia and played a crucial role in armored warfare for decades. While the division was stood up and inactivated multiple times throughout its history, it was officially activated in 1940 and deactivated in 1995, leaving a rich legacy of military service.
