Delta Troop was the ground cavalry reconnaissance troop for the 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, known as the "Blue Tigers," which served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1972. The 3rd Squadron is a modern U.S. Army unit with air cavalry capabilities, currently serving as part of the 3rd Infantry Division and equipped with AH-64 Apache helicopters.
