The term "82nd Engineer Company" most commonly refers to the 82nd Engineer Combat Battalion, an Army unit authorized in 1942 and activated in 1943. It was originally part of the 82nd Engineer Combat Regiment, which was reorganized into the 82nd Engineer Combat Battalion and the 1115th Engineer Combat Group in 1943. The unit is now largely a historical association, with a focus on locating and staying in contact with former members.
