The "2nd General Hospital" in Landstuhl, West Germany (FRG), is the former name for the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC). It is the largest U.S. military hospital outside the United States and the sole American trauma center in Europe, located near Ramstein Air Base. The hospital was known as the "2nd General Hospital" from 1954 until 1994 before its name changed to its current title, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC).
