The U.S. Army's 14th Cavalry Regiment history spans from its organization in 1901 to its current role as a Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition (RSTA) unit, having served in the Philippines, with long-term continuous duty in Germany after World War II, and most recently as the Army's first Stryker Brigade Combat Team unit at Ft. Lewis (now Joint Base Lewis-McChord). Key historical events include its initial deployment to the Philippines, its service against potential communist aggression in Europe for 24 years, and its subsequent reactivation in 2000.
