The 3rd Infantry Division's role in the "Right of Passage" operation during the Cold War in Germany involved securing the rights of Allied forces to travel through East Germany to reach West Berlin. Following World War II, the four-power agreements allowed for this vital access, and the 3rd Infantry Division was stationed in West Germany for decades, providing a crucial deterrent and presence during the Cold War.
