The 24th Evacuation Hospital served at Long Binh, South Vietnam, between 1966 and 1968, treating both military and civilian casualties in a complex environment, according to the 2017 book "Long Daze at Long Binh" by Stephen Donovan and Frederick Borchardt. The hospital handled the diverse needs of a war zone, from medical care to administration and logistics, in a setting that saw the war's proximity but not always direct combat.
