The 10th Cavalry Regiment, known as Buffalo Soldiers, was established on September 21, 1866, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. While the 10th Cavalry was stationed at various forts, including Fort Assiniboine in Montana, it's important to note that the "Buffalo Soldiers" moniker became a broader term for all-Black regiments in the U.S. Army, not solely the 10th.
